Andy is accomplished
in all aspects of intellectual property practice in
Canada, the United States and internationally. He is
highly innovative in the investigation and protection of
intellectual property rights and remedies, and the
negotiation of technology transfer licensing agreements.
Andy is adept at assisting his clients in developing
solutions to their IP problems that make most sense from
a business standpoint, whether securing protection,
enforcing rights or resolving disputes.
Andy is
co-chair of the Trade-mark Committee of the Canadian Bar
Association. Andy has also served on several committees
of other international IP organizations.

The Person
Andy believes in
candlelight dinners with his wife, Mari Lyn; fine wine,
good barbeque, and wearing shorts. Andy's passion for
wine led him to complete the Sommelier program and he
travels to vineyards near and far to "study" different
wines. Andy's passion for food has led him to the
wonderful world of barbeque and Andy can be found
tending to one of his barbeques most weekends. Andy is
an avid sports fan and cheers hard for his teams to
succeed. In the summer months, Andy can be found digging
in the dirt, tending to his grapes, roses, garlic, and
the rest of the yard, often with his faithful companion,
Bacci, (a one hundred pound Hungarian Kuvasz) at his
side. In between everything else, Andy works hard to
stay fit, in order to keep up with his dog and his new
Grandson.
