The Professional
Jim joined the firm in 1989. Jim has 23 years
experience in all areas of intellectual property
practice. His area of specialty is trade-marks
including domestic and foreign trade-mark practices
and prosecution. Jim is actively involved with the
Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC),
having served as a Councillor in past years, and is
currently serving as President of IPIC for the 2007-2008
term. Jim was also the
Chairperson of the Trade-mark Agent Examination
Committee. Jim has presented numerous papers on
trade-marks and related topics.

The Person
Jim is very personable and always has a story that
will make you laugh. He is an avid golfer, and,
perhaps not by accident, lives next door to a golf
course. Jim also enjoys wood working and playing the
guitar.
